Alone
Poetry from my past
Mt. Shasta - By Blair
Alone
Hugging your pillow in the middle of a rainy night
Hearing each drop hit the windowsill
Wondering how many are doing the same
Hearing what you're hearing
Sensing what you're sensing
Feeling what you're feeling
Morning awakes
You drive through unimaginable beauty
Rock faced cliffs lined with magnificent pines
The sound of the river flowing
Waterfalls so pure they take you back to your youth
A simpler time of innocence and beauty
Redwoods that bring out the imagination of your childhood
Forests so lush and green and filled with that glorious scent
you can never get enough of
Ocean bluffs with waves crashing down below billowing the sound of a cannon
These fill the heart with pristine peace and an almost unquenchable joy
A deer stops and stares at you as if you're friends
Eagles fly above and perch in the trees almost as if they're watching over you
The stars show up bright in the night's sky
And you start thinking about the vastness of the universe
And it brings tears to your eyes
How beautiful it all is
And then it hits you
You're not alone

Beautiful poetry and imagery, thank you! Looks like Mt. Shasta one of my favorite places.
